Mr. Louie’s practice focuses on defense of hospitals in professional liability actions, physicians in professional liability actions and licensing actions brought by the California Medical Board, pharmacists, nurses and acupuncturists in professional malpractice actions as well as professional licensing actions.

Mr. Louie received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 1978, completed a residency in hospital and clinical pharmacy in 1979 and graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1982. He became licensed to practice pharmacy in California and Nevada in 1978 and to practice law in California in 1982.

His experience as a health care provider and in professional liability litigation practice allows him to promptly and efficiently handle litigation matters in a cost effective and successful manner.

Poole: Defense verdict after an eleven-day jury trial on behalf of Hospital Emergency Department in a claim of wrongful and negligent use of restraints resulting in permanent disability; 2015.

McGinty: Defense verdict after seven-day trial on behalf of physician in a claim of negligently performed surgical removal of salivary stone; 2010.

Snelling: Defense verdict after sixteen-day trial on behalf of general surgeon in a claim of medical negligence leading to bowel perforation; 2009.

MacDougall: Defense verdict after fourteen-day trial on behalf of physician in a claim of negligently performed LASIK surgery; 2004.

Davis: Dismissal midtrial in case against radiologist involving allegations of failure to perform CT scan; 2002.

Rosales: Defense verdict on behalf of physician in a claim of negligent anesthesia care; 2000.
